Hello lovely! I’m Alysha, it’s so nice to meet you! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my site. I started Elegance & Peonies as a way to keep me committed to finishing my projects. I tend to get very excited at the beginning but lose interest quickly. This site keeps me focused and makes me actually complete projects. I also try to be very aware of cost, so most of my projects are very budget friendly. I hope you find some projects you enjoy, and that inspire you to turn your house into a home!
Now here’s a little bit of personal info about me! I’m a Canadian girl, living on Vancouver Island, in British Columbia. I was born and raised here, and will likely never leave. I absolutely love the ocean, mountains, trees and everything about it here. I could live with a little less rain, but I certainly prefer it over snow, so I can’t complain much! I’m a bit of a baby when it’s cold out, so I like small doses of snow, mainly just by going to the mountains.
You see what I mean by I don’t like the cold? This is my husband and I on our wedding day in Hawaii. No, he did not wear that hat for the ceremony! We’re a little different though, we eloped. That’s right, just us on a beach in Hawaii! If you’re wondering, do I regret it? The answer is most certainly no, I wouldn’t change it for anything. It was absolutely perfect, because it was completely stress free!
Anyways I probably should introduce my wonderful husband, his name is Chris. He is THE reason I get all of my DIY projects done. His personality is very much let’s get it done, and mine is careful planning so we balance each other out pretty well. He’s a Carpenter by trade, so he’s very handy which makes executing most of my ideas for projects easy. I just tell him what I’m thinking, and he figures out how to do it. I would be completely lost without his help, and I am forever grateful.
This little boy is my whole world. His name is Ryker, and he turned 1 on June 29. Anyone who knows me would never have imagined how much he would change me. He brings so much joy into our lives everyday, we would be completely lost without him. He’s a little trouble maker and already has his parents stubborn and independent nature so he definitely keeps us on our toes!!
I attribute all of my hard-work and dedication to this man. My father passed away tragically, almost four years ago, and my life will never be the same. His passing has impacted my life in more ways than I could possibly imagine. I couldn’t write an about me page without telling you about him. It’s been a huge part of my life and brought about many changes. I was a very different person before he passed and hopefully one day I will be there again.
I better liven this up a bit before saying goodbye, because I don’t want to leave you on a somber note. Here’s a few random facts about me!
- Drinking tea and playing scrabble or cards is my idea of fun. Yes I know, I’m like an 80 year old grandma as my husband likes to tell me.
- I absolutely love to waterski, wakeboard, and spend time on the lake. I also love dirt-biking and quadding.
- I don’t like drink or go to parties, and much prefer small groups of people.
- I love to travel, and my goal is to see as much of the world as I can in my lifetime!
I hope that gave you a glimpse of my crazy life. If you enjoy reading my blog please introduce yourself, I’d love to say hi! Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks so much for taking the time to read about me!
